If you are a food blogger, you already know ALL about the Menu for Hope. How could you not? The whole community is abuzz with generous donations and contributions. It’s an amazing effort to support a more than worthy cause… already, readers have donated over $30,000 to help fight hunger… and there are still over 3 days left to give!

If you don’t know about Menu for Hope, then here’s a little background. Food bloggers from all over the globe have donated prizes that will be raffled off on. $10 buys you 1 raffle ticket in the virtual raffle, and you get to specify which prize you are competing for. There are prizes for dinners with celebs, there are food packages, there are wines, there are cooking gadgets. And, what might be interesting for Still Life With readers, there are prizes for food photographers!

Kayln of Kayln’s Kitchen has offered up not one, but two Photo Studio’s in a Box.

Santos of The Scent of Green Bananas has offered up a Cupcake Decorating kit... great for budding food stylists.

Ivan of food.recentrunes is offering up his slightly used Ricoh Caplio R3 digital camera. It’s a point and shoot with 7.1 optical zoom. Not a bad start into the world of food photography for $10!

Austin of Real Thai has offered up a stunning package those who are interested in travel food photography: a six hour food tour of Bangkok! Austin is a fantastic photographer who surely has some tricks he could teach you along the way.

Heidi of 101 Cookbooks has offered up a 1 hour private photography lesson with her in San Francisco (you have to get yourself to SF). I only tell you this in passing. Don’t bid on it please… I want it! 😉

For just $10, you can enter for your chance to win one of these prizes that will almost certainly do something to improve your photo skills. Of course, donating more than $10 simply increases your chances to win!

  1. Isn’t it wonderful how generous people are being? And the fact that some people are going to win great prizes is just icing on the cake. I’d love to have a photography lesson from Heidi or you, either one!
